Why "Options Monitor"?

The name Options Monitor is inspired by Richard Hexton, a British options trader from the 1980s who provided a similar service and wrote several books on the subject. Back then, traders had to call their brokers to place orders—far from the instant execution we have today. Hexton’s work laid the foundation for structured options income strategies, and I’ve built upon those principles to create a modern system focused on steady, low-stress monthly income.

Each trade will follow the Sleep Easy Dividend Options Income approach outlined in my book, focusing on US-listed dividend-paying companies with technically attractive setups.

Occasionally, we might enter a more speculative trade if it presents a compelling technical setup and Mr. Market isn’t acting overly irrational.

Here's some further information to familiarise yourself with before signing up:

Trade Variations: Members are not required to replicate the exact trade setup provided in the initial idea. The goal is to offer transparency and clarity so members can make informed decisions based on their own preferences.

Limit Orders: There's flexibility in how limit orders are submitted. I adjust our orders frequently to get the best price, but members can choose their own approach. The specifics of order duration (good till cancelled vs. good for the day) are a matter of personal preference.

Entering Trades: New members are advised not to chase after open trades from before they joined, as the market conditions may have changed.

Existing Trades: After initiating each new trade, I always place a Good Till Cancelled (GTC) Buy To Close order at 80% of the potential profit. Depending on the current VIX and overall market conditions, I may adjust this target to 90% or, in some cases, as low as 50%. Use this approach as a reference for managing your own trades.

Focus on Big Picture: Members should prioritise understanding the trade's strategic fit, following position size guidelines, and avoiding exposure to earnings releases over the exact details of order execution.
